Little Bubble | A short poem

arrogant little bubble | a short poem

“Most of us are arrogant little bubbles. Victory and pleasure make us forget what we are and we expand our ego as much as possible. But in the end, we realise what we forgot and explode into nothing, leaving behind everything we had gathered to expand ourselves.”

I was an arrogant little bubble
Floating among joyful bubbles.
Absorbing the wet air of success
To expand myself with fond memories.

As I was expanding myself in time
I forgot who I really was.
Mockingly bidding goodbye
To other bubbles that died

Now when the dry air of truth
Hits me hard and pierce me deeply
I feel what I had never felt before
I realize what I did not know

Even the biggest bubble
has to pop one day
Even the thickest bubble
has to shatter one day

  1. Abtruse and filled with the elements of life, that no matter how big or successful one person becomes, eventually we will fade away, and with it our ego dashed into airy nothings, just as all the knowledge in the world couldn’t save Faustus from dying, similarly all the vanity, prejudice humans associate themselves with, is meant to fritter.

I am alive in case you are wondering that unni.
