Taken Girlfriend — my first animation film as a Hero

I love animation films because they are cute, funny, thought-provoking, colourful. I always wished to make a movie where I am the Hero! To create a movie where I am the Hero, I need a lot of time. Luckily, I am a zero in real life and I have infinite time. So I decided to create a movie for myself. My first animation film as a Hero!

Taken Girlfriend — Behind the scenes

“What should I choose as a topic? War? Romance? or just a simple comedy?” I thought about this for a while and decided to create a love story with fight scenes. Animation process is one of the most painstaking works I have ever done. Just to create a walking sequence, I have to draw at least 5-9 pictures(it is called frame-by-frame animation as each frame is hand drawn)

With a bunch of software and a lot of self-confidence, I began to create my animation film. I was disappointed in the outcome as it isn’t smooth or rich in colours like the Hollywood animation films. But this is a one-man work and Hollywood movies are funded with billions of dollars and hundreds of animation professionals. Anyway, after a week of hard work— drawing, colouring, motion graph, sound editing etc —  I fulfiled my dream without anyone to help.

Taken Girlfriend — Plot

I am single and introvert in this film(like I am in real life). I see happy couples everywhere and I feel bad about myself. One day, I meet a girl online unexpectedly and we begin to love each other. This relationship goes on and reaches Valentine’s day. My life goes upside down when a group of terrorists known as “Black Mask” abducts my first love on valentine’s day. Will romantic hero Unni save his girlfriend from the terrorists?
