A child’s world is a symbolic of child’s mind. A world that we adults ignore or forget, because we are too busy with our serious job and worrying too much about the future. This is for those adults who needs to know the top reasons to visit a child’s world. The top reasons are :
Happiness is not a thing, it is a feeling
As adults, we see money, status and other materialistic things as our source of happiness. But this is not always true because I have seen a lot of “successful” people with miserable life(mainly because of disease or family problems). Even after achieving a lot of material possessions, happiness is never guaranteed. One good instance is feeling lonely and sad in the middle of a great party surrounded by coworkers/adult friends.
In a child’s world, you are not judged based on your rank, education, financial status etc. Neither your million dollar possessions nor your Himalayan ego is needed. Here in this world, the sight of a beautiful butterfly, rainbow or any beautiful scenery is enough to awake your inner happiness.
Honesty is the best policy
A child is like a mirror that completely reflects the truth. Adults manipulate the truth into whatever they like because of fear or selfish motives. One example: if your boss asks you -“How do I look today?,” What will be your reply? Most of us will reply something that makes the boss happy irrespective of truth. Why? because of fear, and pleasing your boss is good for your career. It is acceptable to say such lie because it will make both you and your boss happy. But what if it becomes a habit, to please your lover or your friends.? Adults, sometimes, are unable to speak the truth, what they feel inside their heart to the world.Lack of honesty makes our life too complex, accumulating all the negative feelings which result in a mental imbalance. Child’s world is fair, where everyone is honest and can say whatever they feel. The child teaches you to talk from your heart instead of hiding and regretting. Stop showing fake love, stop pretending to be happy, listen to your heart.and talk openly whenever possible. Be honest with yourself and to others whenever possible, like a child.
Great source of inspiration/hope
Spending whole day to do surreal doodles on the wall, talking to imaginary friends/toys, a child’s limitless imagination is awe-inspiring. There are no emotional or scientific limits in a child’s way of perception. If you notice their activities and creations carefully, you will see many inspiring concepts. Without knowing the basics and rules of art(for example- color theory), a kid can easily create Surreal, abstract, cubist, or any other style of painting.
It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child.
– Pablo Picasso
Ok, enough said about paintings. There are other lessons too, that kids teach us.
- Rise from fall, never give up – Have you ever seen a kid who stopped playing, laughing and running, after falling on a playground? No, you haven’t. A kid never gives up,and will repeat whatever he loves to do.
- Stop overthinking about future, focus on the present, enjoy “NOW”.
It is true that a serious situation needs a mature approach, but I hope you would often visit a child’s world. Because being a completely serious, mature man/woman blinds you from seeing other dimensions of life.
